
Today 61 years ago in 1948 Cleveland Indians pitcher Bob Lemon no-hit the Detroit Tigers in a 2-0 Tribe win. The win brought the Indians to 39-23 in a year in which they would end up with 97 regular season wins and a world series championship. It took Lemon only an hour and thirty-three minute to finish off the Tigers and 49,761 people were there to witness the epic performance. Lemon was a seven time all-star for the Indians and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1976. Lemon collected 207 wins and 1,277 strikeouts with a 3.23 era in his 18 year career. His number 21 has been retired by the Cleveland Indians as well.
