Would Leon Powe Erase Your Tribe Pains?

Even with a major knee injury, Leon Powe could loom large off the bench during the playoffs. Perhaps the Cavs will bring a former nemesis into the fold.

Every Cleveland sport-related website, blog, etc will not have this a Cavs rumor about an injured backup above a huge Indians trade. Since LeBrownsTown believes in the philosophy of “fair weather priority coverage,” we are making a statement here that the Cavs should be your priority. The stupid quotation I just wrote essentially means that we will cover all the teams and while we will stay optimistic, we will prioritize based on the team in best positions to win a title.

With that long introduction behind us let’s get down to business. Brian Windhorst’s and David Aldridge through separate blogs have posted two interesting stories on unrestricted free agent power forward Leon Powe. Windhorst says the Cavs have made an offer to Powe.

Powe will miss a good chunk of the season (February is the earliest possible return date according to Aldridge) as he recovers from a torn left ACL and meniscus.

The Magic, Lakers and Mavs are all interested in Powe but Aldridge says that Powe’s first choice is the Cavs. Windhorst’s news that Powe is ahead of schedule is very encouraging.
