Is it 1995 all over again? Well, not exactly but the city of Cleveland is about to lose a football team. The Arena Football League, which ceased operations for the 2009 season, is about to fold, according to Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch.

The inaugural 2008 squad earned a berth in the conference championship game. It’s hard to imagine that anyone was particularly attached to the AFL but this is still disapointing news. The league is action-packed, the team was championship-caliber and football starved fans were able to watch the pigskin fly in the summer.
